Ilias Vazaios

As Director of Low Carbon, Ilias is an established leader with a passion for energy policy, economics and markets. During the past 10 years, Ilias has contributed to developing Ecuity into an impactful energy consultancy with influence across the green transition agenda, having managed and led a diversity of projects (working with industry as well as national and local government) to meet the challenge of decarbonisation in a cost effective and viable manner.  

His demonstrated capacity of conceiving, designing and delivering successful campaigns has seen him provide policy and strategic advice to energy suppliers, manufacturers, industry consortia and start-ups both in the UK and Brussels. A natural problem solver, he is committed to driving low-carbon investment through commercialisation strategies and market development roadmaps.  

Prior to Ecuity, he worked as a business consultant for Cemex, policy advisor for the European Commission Delegation to the US, and energy policy consultant for the Bellona Foundation and The Centre in Brussels. His experience in the field is also complemented by his education; he holds post-graduate degrees in Management from Cass Business School and EU Policy from Essex University. A native Greek, Ilias also speaks English, Spanish and German. 

Outside of work, Ilias is known for his sense of humour. He enjoys good coffee, the Greek seaside and is currently championing through the early years of parenthood.
